Our adventure took us to the heart of downtown Seattle, where a fun couple, Andrea and Edward, kicked off their wedding day at the downtown Seattle Marriott Waterfront. We spent an amazing day with this dynamic duo. From the Marriott Waterfront hotel to a stunning cathedral, then finishing at a fantastic reception at Block 41 in downtown Seattle. The couple brought an incredible amount of joy and energy to their wedding day, making our job as photographers a breeze.
Our day started in their hotel rooms at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront where Andrea and Edward were getting ready with their friends. Everyone was so excited! You could feel the happiness in the air. We took lots of pictures of these special moments. We made sure to capture everything, like the big laughs, the hugs, and even the special cologne Edward bought just for this day. (so cute!) Our day couldn’t have started better with candid clicks of Andrea and Edward with the cheerful chaos of friends.
Next, we hopped into the party shuttle to Kerry Park for Andrea and Edward’s emotional first look. Overlooking the beautiful cityscape of Seattle, Edward got his first glimpse of Andrea in her wedding dress. As Andrea slowly approached Edward, their hearts pounding, you could feel the love in the air. They were both speechless when they saw each other for the first time in their wedding attire. They hugged, kissed and even shed a tear. It was a touching moment that we felt privileged to witness.
We gave them a moment and then continued capturing their day with the wedding party. It was great to see how their close knit community had shaped their journey and we could see it come through as they put on boutonnieres. Taking a page from the past, we recreated cherished photos from Andrea’s sister’s wedding. It was a delight to take these photos with them and their close friends and family.
After that we went to St. James Cathedral in downtown Seattle for their mass wedding ceremony. The cathedral was majestic and elegant, with high ceilings, stained glass windows and ornate details. Before the start of the ceremony, we captured family and wedding party photos before the big moment. The Cathedral was big and beautiful, but it was also a bit dark, and we were only allowed to take pictures from certain places. While the cathedral, in all its grandeur and magnificence, presented a challenging environment for photography, with its mood-lit interiors and limited natural light. However, we navigated through it always keeping in mind our mission: to capture this special day in the most beautiful way.
They said their vows in front of their friends and family and made it official before God and the government. The crowd went wild and the party was just getting started. They signed their marriage certificate where we managed to sneak in a playful dip photo.
The celebration moved to Block 41 for the reception. This chic, industrial space complemented the delicious food from Blue Ribbon Catering. The decor was a fantastic Italian spring chic, with vibrant greenery and dried citrus ready to be filled with the vibrant energy of Andrea and Edward’s reception. The venue came alive as the couple’s close-knit group of friends and family gathered to celebrate. Andrea and Edward’s reception was full of laughter, amazing speeches, toasts, a cake cutting, and so many smiles.
Andrea and Edward were not just a bride and groom; they were also the life of the party. We took so many pictures of them having a great time with their family and friends. It was a joy to capture them having fun and making memories. They also had a photo booth that was a hit with everyone. We captured everyone in a big group photo but after that the party began. A buzzing dance floor courtesy of DJ Billy, and late-night Dick’s burgers (a local favorite) perfectly wrapped up the festivities. With intergenerational photos of the family, and even Andrea’s grandmother singing her heart out to “Sweet Caroline”, the night was filled with unforgettable moments.
Taking photos of Andrea and Edward’s wedding day was a blast! They made memories for a lifetime on their wedding day, and we feel blessed to capture those. We feel really lucky that we got to be there to take pictures of all the great moments. We wish Andrea and Edward lots of love and happy times as they start their new life together. Congratulations on your new life together!
